Know when Shopify and Google disagree.
CatalogDrift monitors consistency between your Shopify product catalog and Google Merchant Center, so you can catch catalog drift before it costs you Shopping traffic.
CatalogDrift compares the two catalogs deterministically and reports each difference as an incident you can review and act on. It is read-only: it never changes products, prices, availability, or settings in either platform.
What it detects
- Price mismatches
Products whose Google Merchant Center price no longer matches the Shopify price.
- Availability mismatches
Items that are sellable on one platform but out of stock or unavailable on the other.
- Missing & ghost products
Products live in Shopify but absent from Merchant Center, or still listed in Merchant Center after being removed from Shopify.
- Approval issues
Merchant Center item-level approval and disapproval status, so suppressed listings surface for review.
How it works
- Install on ShopifyThe app requests only the read-only
read_productspermission to see your catalog. - Connect Google Merchant CenterLink the Merchant Center account you want monitored, using your own Google login.
- Review the findingsCatalogDrift compares both catalogs and reports drift, so you can fix it where it happened: in Shopify or Merchant Center.
Free scan and paid monitoring
Every store can run a free one-time scan to see its current drift. Paid plans add scheduled monitoring, incident history, and email alerts. Plans are selected and billed by Shopify, and you can cancel from your Shopify admin at any time.
Read-only by design. CatalogDrift detects and reports differences. It never modifies products, prices, availability, or settings in Shopify or Google Merchant Center, and it does not guarantee business outcomes. Every fix stays in your hands.
Getting the app
CatalogDrift runs inside your Shopify admin as an embedded app. If you already have access, open it from the Apps section of your Shopify admin.
